Sara Vernon Sterman Joins Level Field Facilities Fund’s Board of Directors

April 4, 2025

At Level Field Facilities Fund, we know that creating equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities requires not just vision, but leadership grounded in deep expertise and lived values. That’s why we’re excited to share that Sara Vernon Sterman has joined our Board of Directors.

Sara brings a powerful combination of financial acumen and an unwavering commitment to educational equity. As Chief Program Officer at Reinvestment Fund, she leads strategy for the organization’s nonprofit investment channel including its technical assistance, capacity-building, and grantmaking programs – key pillars in supporting community-serving institutions nationwide.

Her background also includes two decades of experience growing Reinvestment Fund’s lending portfolio, including overseeing its charter school portfolio as it grew to over $265 million. This work has made her a national leader in mission-driven finance, with a keen understanding of how capital can be leveraged to expand opportunity for students and families.

LFFF exists to help high-quality charter schools access the facilities they need to grow and serve more students. Sara’s insight into both the financial and educational landscapes is already proving invaluable as we expand our impact and break down barriers to access.

We’re incredibly grateful to have Sara’s leadership guiding our next phase of growth—and we’re excited for all that’s ahead.
